Lake Cumberland State Park, KY - A missing West Chester woman's body was recovered Sunday evening from Lake Cumberland.

Wendy L. Augustine, 52, was last seen on a houseboat at the Lake Cumberland State Dock around 12:40 a.m. CST Saturday morning.

She was last seen wearing a black shirt, white tank top, gold chain with a cross necklace and rings on each hand.

Her body was recovered by Kentucky State Police and identified by family members around 5 p.m.

Officers from the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife will be investigating her death.

A family member issued the following statement:

"The Augustine family, husband John and children Katie and Andrew are grateful for the combined efforts of the Russell, Pulaski and Boone county rescue services to locate and recover Wendy. She was an extraordinary wife, mother and person. It was an unforeseen accident that took Wendy at the place she loved - Lake Cumberland. We loved Wendy and the world will miss having a Wendy Harris Augustine in it."
