KY state Sen. Max Wise released from quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19
A Kentucky state senator who tested positive for COVID-19 has been released from quarantine, according to an update from his office.
Sen. Max Wise, R-16th District, was notified Sunday by the Lake Cumberland Health Department that he met the criteria to be released from his COVID-19 quarantine.
Wise, whose district includes Adair, Clinton, Cumberland and Wayne counties, said last week that he had been experiencing symptoms, took two tests and both came back positive.
On Sunday, he thanked the health department and its staff for their professionalism and that he values "their work during these challenging, unprecedented times."
"I would also like to express my gratitude to every person who reached out to my family and me in prayer and support of a full recovery," he said.
Wise said he experienced mild symptoms through his diagnosis.
Last week, Wise said his wife, a pediatric dentist, took a test out of abundance of caution and tested negative. She's been allowed to return to work, where she will be using proper personal protective equipment.
Additional updates on Wise can be found on his social media pages.
